SPECIAL WINTER OFFERS

 1st Annual Youth
Fishing Derby

The event was an absolute success.  Not bad for our first event.  We had 31 contestants.  All contestants received free fishing rods, free bait and free tackle.  Our contests received a morning danish, lunch and afternoon stacks.  There were plenty of giveaways for all.  A pro pole, a one year subscription to a fishing newspaper, baskets full of male and female goodies, camping lanterns and more.

All proceeds were donated to the Lake County Community Action Agency earmarked for the Youth Center located in Clearlake.  This is going to be a yearly event.

We Had 11
Volunteers

They helped with the registration desk, handed out poles and bait.

They helped the children bait their lines, showed them how to cast their lines and shared with them their secrets of how to catch a fish.

They prepared and served lunch and snacks, played the CD's and helped with the giveaways.

They assisted in the set-up and clean-up of the resort.

THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!

"FISHERMAN BOB"

Bob truly enjoys the sport. He has been fishing from the resort's dock since early spring catching bass and catfish.  This happens to be a 24 lbs. catfish. His record bass weight is 11 lbs.  Bob has recently entered one of the many Lake County Fishing Tournaments.

             WILFREDO
         LANDAVERDE

and  his family are one of our frequent guests.  Here he is cleaning his fish of the day at our lakeside fish cleaning station.

His lovely wife Lizette will prepare these his catch of the day for dinner for their family.

Wilfredo says this is an ideal location.  He and his family can fish (day and night), jet ski, enjoy water tubing and swim.

EVERYONE CAN DO THEIR OWN THING AND BE "HAPPY"

        THEY CALL
       HIM
CHARLIE

He is the sixth generation male to inherit his name.  Charles Cheeks VI

This was also his first ever fishing experience.  Can you hear his fishing story he told his classmates on Monday at school.  He even had a picture to back up the story.

The Cheeks, Flood and Moore families have been friends for over 30 years.  It was great hearing some their life stories they recalled and share over the weekend.

CONGRATS CHARLIE!!!

         80 YEARS
            YOUNG

They came from the North, South and East to spent the week  celebrating GRAND SAYRE'S 80th Birthday.  They really took in all the activities that Clearlake has to offer.  They had daily excursions that included visiting Anderson Marsh, our prize winning vineyards, walking and bike riding trails and several of our restaurants.  The boys liked the Skate Park.

There were days they simply stayed around the resort BBQing, kayaking and fishing.  They brought with them a huge water trampoline.  If I were a few years younger, I would have definitely been jumping up and down on that great water toy.
